Data Training for Democrats and Progressives
DataDems Data Bootcamp is a seven day, in-person training focusing on the skills you need to move into or move up in a data role in progressive politics. This training will focus on VAN, Excel, SQL, reporting, modeling, intra-campaign communication, and more.

Saturday, May 18th - Friday, May 24th, Washington, DC (rescheduled from April 13-21)
Who Should Apply?
Anyone interested in making an impact in progressive politics and who enjoys learning new technologies, geeking out over spreadsheets, solving Sudoko puzzles, etc. This training will primarily prepare you for data management roles. But we’ll also touch on some data analytics concepts as well. People of color, women, queer, trans, those with disabilities and other individuals from underrepresented and marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Mapping with GIS
Data cleaning in Python
Critical campaign thinking skills
Career development coaching and access to a network of progressive data professionals and organizations
7 full-days; 60+ hours
We’ll start on Saturday, May 18th, and meet for 9-11 hour days going through to Friday, May 24th in the evening.
What Do I Need?
A Mac, Windows, , or Linux laptop with at least 4GB of RAM. Chromebooks won’t work.
How Much Does It Cost?
A limited number of need-based scholarships are available. Please indicate if you will be seeking a scholarship in your application
We are working to arrange free or low-cost accommodations in the DC-area (but have not at this time)
On-site lunch and dinner will be provided each day
Can This Help Me Get a Job in Democratic / Progressive Analytics?
Towards the end of the bootcamp, we’ll host a career day with campaigns and organizations from across the progressive ecosystem. In some cases connections made at the career day or over the course of the program may lead to part-time or full-time jobs.
How Much Do Data People Earn?
